FAQ
Is there a cost to be featured?
No. The standard 2-page spread is 100% free for authors. We do offer an optional 4-page upgrade for those interested, but this is never a requirement for inclusion.
Do I lose any rights to my work?
Absolutely not. You retain 100% of the rights to your book, your cover, character art, and text. By submitting, you are granting us permission to use these assets to design your feature and promote your work within the magazine and on our social media channels.
When will I hear back about my submission?
We review submissions on a rolling basis. If your book is selected for the upcoming issue, you will receive an email weeks before the launch date. If you aren't selected for the current issue, your book remains in our system for consideration in future releases.
Do I have to provide review copies?
No, the Reader Review program is entirely optional. It is a service we provide to help authors get reviews, but opting out does not negatively impact your chances of being featured in the magazine.
What if I need to update my links or cover art?
If you have a major update after you’ve submitted, please reply to your original confirmation/approval email, and we will do our best to update it before the issue's release.
How many books are featured in an issue?
We want to feature as many books as possible as there are so many indie authors out there who deserve more attention. That's why each issue features 30/31 books. So don't get discouraged if your book isn't initially chosen, there is a very good chance it will down the road.
Do you accept AI covers or written books?
NO! That and your book having hateful content are the sure fire ways to never getting your book accepted. Don't bother submitting them!
If I’m not selected, do I need to submit again?
Nope! Your submission stays in our database. If your book is a better fit for a later theme or a different genre spotlight, we may reach out for a future issue. You only need to resubmit if you want to promote a different book.
What is the difference between the newsletter and the magazine?
The Magazine is our bimonthly showcase where your book gets a permanent, aesthetic 2-page feature. The Newsletter is our more frequent email list (sent 3x a month) where we share time-sensitive alerts like limited-time freebies, ARC sign-ups, and monthly recommendations. Think of the magazine as a Coffee Table Book and the newsletter as the Weekly Bulletin.
If I submit my book for the newsletter, does it automatically go into the magazine (and vice versa)?
No. While they are part of the same SNTW family, the selection process is separate. The Newsletter is where we share high-volume alerts like free books and ARC sign-ups. The Magazine is a showcase with limited slots per issue. Being selected for a newsletter feature doesn't guarantee a spot in the mag, and a mag feature doesn't mean your book will automatically appear in our weekly newsletter. Each is curated to give readers the best experience for that specific format.
