How Our Promos Work

At Something Novel This Way, we are committed to shining a light on indie and small press authors. We understand the challenges you face in gaining visibility, and our mission is to connect your stories with readers eager for fresh and diverse voices through promotions on our newsletter and website.

Please note we do not accept books that feature harmful or hateful content. Additionally, we do not allow the use of AI-generated covers or writing. Books submitted to us must be in line with our guidelines or they will not be featured.

Cost by Click

After your first promo, we operate on a cost-per-click (CPC) model. During the week of your scheduled promotion, we track the number of clicks on your book link in our newsletter and blog. The cost is set at $0.35 per click. Authors are only charged if their link accumulates clicks that total at least $1. Otherwise, there’s no charge. Additionally, we have established a cap of $50, which means that even if your link receives an exceptionally high number of clicks, you will never pay more than this amount.

Optional Add-ons

If you're looking to boost your book's visibility further, you can opt in to have a leaderboard ad or a footer ad on the newsletter and website for a week. This promotion also operates on a CPC model, set at $0.50 per click. You won't be charged if your total link clicks don’t reach a minimum of $1. You also will never pay more than $50, regardless of the volume of clicks generated.

First Promo Free

Authors using our service for the first time receive a free trial to promote one book, website, or sign-up list with us. This allows authors to try our promo at no risk. During this trial, authors can gauge the effectiveness of our promotional efforts, observing whether their book resonates with our audience.

Dedicated Book Blast - $20

Our Book Blast service gives you the chance to be the sole focus of our newsletter. You can choose to spotlight either a single book title or your entire backlist. This newsletter is sent to readers who have opted in to receive updates about books in your specific genre. Within this newsletter, you have complete freedom to promote your book(s) however you'd like. You can include things like:

• Linking to playlists

• Sharing excerpts

• Explaining why you wrote the book, your inspirations, what sets it apart from other books in the genre, etc.

• Any other promotional material you believe will resonate with potential readers.

The key benefits of the Book Blast service are:

• You are the sole focus, allowing you to really showcase your work in a more personalized way.

• Your message reaches readers who are already interested in your genre.

• You have full control over the content and how you present your book(s).
